The A&P Show

Last week we were set a task to do activities based on the A&P show.

I found it quite hard to get all of this work done in three days because you had to get it done to a high standard. 

there were 8 tasks to finish I only got 4 done but im still pretty happy with myself. 

so here is my finished work.

this is the first thing i did which is the history of the A&P show.

this is the second thing i did which is advertising for next year.

this is the 3rd thing i did which was my photo book.

I also made a ride that was called the mountain climber but it went missing. 
I was que proud of it and liked how good the quality was.

Writing Practice

Whats up bloggers yesterday we were given the task to write a story based on a video we watched called the ocean maker. The video had such a great story line. When we watched the video we only watched it up to about 1 minute 50 seconds and then we got to right about what happens  Once we had watched the video as a class we brainstormed about the plane and the character and stuff like that. Then we had to make a plan which we got ten minutes to do. This is my plan.

Then we had to write the story here is my story.

I also wanted you guys to see the video and what I had to base my story off Please leave a comment Telling what i could improve on in my narrative to make it better.

Speeches

For the past few weeks we have been writing speeches. My speech was about how social media and how it can sometimes have a bad influence on us. I really liked my speech i tried really hard on it and did my best presenting it. Once everyone had finished there speech the year 5&6's had to present them to the year 5&6's. And the year 7&8's had to present it to the year 7&8's. when we present our speeches first we have to present them to the class then if you get in the top three for your year group you go to the school competition where we get a judge. Then if o are a year 7 or 8 if you get first place in the school competition then you go to the ellesmere college speech competition with different schools. In the end Ariana, Hannah and Ian got into the school competition for the year 7's. And Ian came first in the school competition which means he will be going to the  ellesmere college speech competition. So here is my speech I hope you enjoy.

Book Award Day

on monday we went to the book award day. I thought it was good but i got a bit bored because it wasn't very interactive. I think something they could improve on is maybe having activities and making it more interactive. 

My favourite person was Simon Pollard. He talked about spiders and bugs. He was really interesting to listen to. I definitely think that he should win the best book award he really deserves it. 

Netball zones 2017

Hi Bloggers!
On wednesday YMS went to the selwyn district zones. We played really well we came tied on one of the games and we lost three of them. We Played really well we did really good at defending the ball and keeping it away from there goal. On the second to last game it was pouring rain but we still kept playing strong even though we kept slipping and dropping the ball. Our last game was canceled because it wa just to wet. we had a great time and I really enjoyed it.

My Timetable

This week we had a task to create our dream timetables. That we would like if we planned school times and activities. I really like my presentation because it explains why i like it and how I think my plan will be effective.

My Holiday

In the first week of the holidays I went swimming with my cousin who had come to christchurch from pleasant point. She stayed for the whole holidays. Her mum went to malaysia while she stayed at my nanas.

In the second weekend I went to hanmer with my dad and anges family. One of my best friend's Tylee came to hanmer with us she is so awesome and fun to hang out with. 

going to the pools and going on the hydro slides was so fun. 

in the second week I saw my cousin analese again and me and her and my auntie donna and my great auntie maureen went to chipmunks and we had so much fun there. 

After chipmunks we went swimming in the rolleston pools. My favourite part about going swimming is that I can practice my swimming up and down the lanes.

when we got home from swimming We bought some lollies and popcorn and had a movie night we watched the movie the zookeeper's wife.

My favourite part about my holidays were going to hanmer.

Phil

Phil

This week the year seven and eights got the pleasure of having Phil in our class from 9:30 to 10:30. What Phil does is he comes in and teaches us about who we are. He was really fun to have around and spend time with for that hour. He taught us about who we are here is a photo of us with Phil.

Timetable

This week in Rimu got to make our own timetable because it is testing week and the teachers are quite busy.

So each day we had to plan our day and then at the end of the day we had to put a color to show how well it went green was good orang was okay and red was bad.

Practicing how to use screencasify

Today with mark we were practising using screencastify. We had to choose a equation and show how to work it out using screencastify we also used google drawing so here is my video on practising using screencastify.

Friday Sport

On friday the 26th of May the yaldhurst netball team played the prebbleton gems. Yaldhurst won 11-7 and we played really well and tried our hardest.I played center for the full game and I worked really hard and i got most improved because unlike the week before i did not pass to the goal shoot in the second third and laura my team mate and also my friend got player of the day.

She played awesome and got lots of goals because she played goal attack and was really focused and did not rush her shooting. So that was My game.

Cross Country

Coming Second

This week on Monday Yaldhurst had cross country and i came second. I was so puffed at the end and I felt like I was going to faint. My friend Ariana came first. I am really proud of myself for how well i did. Here is a photo of me running.

The Groynes

On Monday the year 7 and 8's went to the groynes to go on the high and the low ropes course. We were split into groups of eight and had 4 or five instructors. My instructors were Ari Lana Jason Torben and david. The first game we was the name game then we played the lama lama game and the lily pad game and the plank game. After that we went on the low ropes and when one of my friends was lifting me over the low ropes she dropped me. Then after the low ropes we went on the high ropes and i got to the middle on the play pen and the top on the giants ladder. now on wednesday we had to make a photo story so here it is.

Power Cut

On thursday i got to school i was so confused why none of the light were on then my teacher said there was a power cut. Then my best friend Ariana (Arianas Blog) came and i ran out and I yelled POWER CUT! We were all so excited until we went to the office and they said that school was closed. So me and ariana started freaking out and yelling our mums are at work but then Ariana's mum came and picked her up and my aunty came and picked me up. and then for the rest of the day at home i did some art and some sleeping.

For the past two week's rimu have been doing NZ art. We had to find 3 NZ  artists then right a bio about them and find a piece of their artwork. Then when we had done that we had to choose our favourite piece of artwork and recreate it. so here is my recreation.

The dream giver

last week the year 7 and 8s wrote a story about the dream giver. the reason that it was only the year 7 and 8s is because the year 5 and 6s were at camp. I really enjoyed making this story because i prefer having a prompt for a story i just find it easier. so here is my story it is not done but i will be updating it.

Meeting Jamie Duff

Today we got to meet a famous racer his name was Jamie Duff.If you don't No Jamie duff is a famous New Zealand Racer. We got to ask questions about Racing one of  the questions was what is the worst thing that's happened to you when you're racing. The answer was here actually fractured his back and didn't know for 5 years. The truck that he carried all his cars and and stuff was massive and I took some photos with it with some of my friends like Ariana and Prudence and Hannah and Laura and then we also took a photo with Jamie duff and we got a hat signed. The Experience was so cool I think our school was so lucky that we get to me all these cool people Like Lisa Carrington. He had been racing since he was 2 or 3 he said. He said that his dad was a big part of his racing.So here is some photos of us.

How to use drive

Reading Writing Maths Activities

Last week rimu had reading, writing and maths tasks. We had to do at least three. I chose to do a video on ten reasons why you should read. But I only ended up doing 5 cause the video wouldn't export. Then I did a list of a-z summer words. And the last one I did was a maths sheet. I found the hardest part was exporting the video because it took forever. The video was so fun to and that was my favourite part as well. So here is my work.
